90-Day Pilot Cohort Application

Thank you for your interest in helping us test First Mate, our AI-powered boat maintenance and troubleshooting assistant.

We're assembling a small group of experienced, engaged boat owners and marine professionals to put First Mate through its paces before a broader release.

This is not just an early-access program. We're looking for participants who can actively use the system, evaluate the quality of its answers, identify where it gets things right or wrong, and help us make the product better.

What participation involves

Over the 90-day pilot, we ask participants to:

  • Use First Mate for at least 10–15 meaningful maintenance or troubleshooting situations
  • Evaluate the accuracy, usefulness, and safety of its responses
  • Tell us when First Mate is wrong, incomplete, confusing, or particularly helpful
  • Complete a short feedback survey once per month
  • Complete a final survey at the end of the 90-day pilot
  • Allow us to review feedback and relevant First Mate interactions for product improvement
  • Participate actively enough for us to understand how the product performs in real-world use

We'll also hold an optional 60-minute video call once per month where participants can meet one another, talk directly with the founders, discuss what they're seeing, suggest improvements, and ask questions.

We want open, candid feedback. Finding problems with First Mate is part of the job.

As a member of the First Mate Closed Beta cohort, you will receive:

  • Early access to new First Mate features and capabilities during the beta
  • Direct access to the First Mate founders during the pilot
  • The opportunity to influence product features, workflows, and priorities before broader release
  • Access to optional monthly group video calls with the founders and other experienced boaters participating in the cohort

Most importantly, you'll be helping us build a tool designed to make boat ownership, maintenance, and troubleshooting easier, safer, and less frustrating for the boating community.

Participants who complete the 90-day beta commitment will receive complimentary lifetime First Mate Premium access.
